Göteborgs Seglarklubb (GSK) was founded in 1917 as a subsidiary to Göteborgs Kungliga Segelsällskap (GKSS). The reason behind this formation was the rule allowing each Yacht Club to participate in national races with only one yacht each. Thus, one more yacht club allowed for one more participant. Through the years GSK participated successfully in national as well as in international sail races. Carrying the tradition forward as an organizing authority on the Swedish Westcoast we are proud to, once again, invite the magnificent 12 Metre Yachts to race on the race arena outside the island of Marstrand.

Marstrand Sailing Association (MSS) was founded in 1931. The club’s activities are mainly twofolded. One is to organize sail races with a focus on Championships. in 2021, for example, they succesfully arranged The Dragon Gold Cup with more than 70 participating yachts. Another good example is the arranging and running of the 44Cup Championship Tour.
Secondly, but not less important, is the running of a school and training operation for kids and young people. The club takes an extensive responsibility in educating and learning young people in how to sail and to behave on the sea surrounding the island of Marstrand.
